Leap of Faith Mark Poppen

I can’t make the leap of faith
That God commands
I want to believe in your love for me,
And say ‘I love you’ as you demand.

But our choices need constant renewal,
And time sure does take its toll.
Petty omissions & cruel rejections
Seeding doubt, mistrust, and betrayal.

How do we know the unknowable?
Knowledge isn’t linear.
Fuzzy Science was built on anomalies,
Not on the backs of yesteryear’s giants.

It takes a leap of faith
To turn today’s edifice to rubble.
Destruction begets creation
Institutions (& lovers) become disposable.
